Tetè • JSJ Rosario 2022
I had the opportunity to create 'Teté, the official mascot of the III South American Youth Games in Rosario 2022. The design was inspired by 'Teru Teru,' the mascot of the II Cruz del Sur Games held in the same city in 1982.

WHO IS TETÈ?
WHO IS TETÈ?
It is a tero, one of the most curious bird species that inhabit Latin America. In Rosario, venue for the next South American Youth Games 2022, they can be found in the “Parque de la Independencia”, the nerve center of the Games. They are birds that always travel in flocks, quite intelligent and that take care of their own better than anyone.

the challenge
Creating "Teté" presented a significant challenge, as designing a character so far from the human form required a unique approach. The mission was to "humanize" a bird, giving it mobility and personality, despite its wings and distinctive legs. Achieving this took six months of research and development across several disciplines, from material exploration to movement design. The right materials were crucial to ensure high-quality results. Ultimately, the character was crafted to be dynamic, friendly, and sporty, embodying the lively spirit of Rosario, while staying true to its avian inspiration.
